About Rights

Rights is our monitoring of human rights in Bangladesh: freedom of expression and assembly, press freedom, detention, torture, enforced disappearance, extrajudicial violence, and the rights of minorities, women, children and workers.

How we work on rights

We document individual cases and broader patterns, using the same evidence standards as the rest of Power Lens. Where a case involves a child or a person at risk, we follow our safeguarding policy, and we take particular care over identification and consent.

Case labels

Every case is marked as a verified fact, an allegation, a court finding or a claim, so readers can see exactly what is known and what is alleged. See our methodology.

If your rights have been violated, or you have witnessed a violation

Report a human rights violation. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
