What helps us most
- Originals. Send the original file, not a screenshot or a copy, where you can.
- Context. Tell us who created it, when, and how you got it.
- Only what is needed. Do not send personal information that is not relevant.
Before you send
- Files can contain hidden information about who made them and where. Remove it if you can.
- Think about who else has the same file. Copies with unique markings can lead back to you.
- We check all evidence for authenticity before we rely on it. See our methodology.
What happens next
Every report is read by a person. We assess it, check it against evidence, and decide what to do, as set out in our investigation methodology. We cannot investigate every report or promise a result, but we read all of them. Your identity is protected under our source protection policy, and we handle your details as described in our privacy policy.
